about

This vision originated in 2002 when I decided to start the writing process as all I had was pen & paper. I would write lyrics as well as jot down sample ideas that I wanted to use from music, movies, etc.

This went on for over 2 years until January 2004 came and I finally bought a computer off of my sister's boyfriend. I had recording software collecting dust for over 4 years that my good friend Greg Dawson from BWC Studios had hooked me up with back when we were recording our old band Grift's 6th & final album.

It was time to install all of the programs and move onto step two, making the music. Since I had two years worth of ideas written down it did not take me long to start producing track after track at a blistering rate. I really didn't want to cop-out as far as originality went with the music so I tried to limit the ammount of beats I sampled. Instead of taking the easy way out I opted to make my own beats, basslines, synths & more. I kept the jacking to a minimal, all though I could not resist for certain tracks.

Before I knew it 2 years had passed by and I had tons of songs. I had really adopted the true vision of where I wanted to go with this project and surprisingly alot of songs that had been years in the making ended up on the cutting room floor as I felt they did not fit with what I was trying to put together.

I wasn't really back to step one but I did backtrack and ended up with alot of empty holes that needed to be filled so once again I was writing songs & lyrics as well as creating new music. This brought me to the end of 2006 and I was finally finished with the exception of a handful of songs that I hadn't recorded vocals for.

There were also technical difficulties over the years. When my first computer died the replacement I got was not microphone friendly so I had a minor setback. After months of saving I bought a new soundcard and picked up where I left off.

In early Feb. 2007 my son Gabriel William Theodoropolus was born and I put down the mic to become a dad. Making music & recording was the last thing on my mind and the proof was in the pudding as I only made one song the entire year, entitled "2007" I also did a remix of "Your Time Is Up" for all the Cena haters but primarily I was focusing on fatherhood.

Before I knew it my son was 18 months old and the music bug was biting me in a big way, it was time to finally slay the beast. My best friend Jerry gave me a microphone he aqquired and that was all the flame I needed under my ass to get the vocals recorded for the last few unfinished songs.

When everything was said and done the excitement was in the air as I got to sit back and listen to the finished product in it's entirety, all 44 tracks & 80 minutes of it! There are alot of different sounds and vibes going on as it's been 6 years, 3 computers, 2 soundcards, 2 microphones, 4 pairs of headphones, 2 pairs of speakers and endless additions, rejections, re-writes & remixes, but FINALLY the baddest stories will be told! I finished up with the final mixes & masters just in time for the new year.

This truly is a book of my life in record format playing out in chronological order from the womb to the end of the year 2006. All of the songs revolve around myself growing up & the real life experiences I encountered, there are no fantasyland lyrics of cars, bling, bikini models and whatever other nonsense the media is shoving down the kids throats these days and trying to pass off as hip hop. Some may not consider this a hip hop record & some may not understand my method of "rap music" as I am very outside of the box but regardless I have done my best to bring rap back to what it has always been about, the art of story telling....
I hope you will enjoy my story!
