In late 1996 my band Black Belt Jones
called it quits, and that was the end of
my rapping. A year later I became the
frontman for Grift, a hardcore metal rap
group. Countless gigs, 5 albums, One tour
& 4 years later we decided to pack it in.
It was now the new millennium and my
former BBJ bandmate Pauly contacted me.
Paul had bought a house and built a
studio in the basement, so he wanted to
make some music, almost like a continuation
of Black Belt. I was now living in a different town
and we were both working full time, so we
got together when we could the odd weeknd
over the course of 12-18 months. We ended
up putting out this cd and performed one
night only for a release party. The rest is
hip hop history.
